So I have decided to buy one of the new AMD Ryzen R5 processors for my new streaming/gaming PC but I cannot decide which of the 2 following versions to buy :

1) AMD Ryzen 5 X4 1400
3.2Ghz Quad-core
Price:220 $

2)AMD Ryzen 5 X4 1500X
3.5Ghz 4 Core
Price:250$

Gpu of choice is:
AMD Radeon RX480 4GB

Solution

Some games are definitely cache sensitive, but the Ryzen 5 1400 has a good amount of cache so it's hard to say.

I'd wait till the benchmarks come out on April 11th to make your decision. ;)

The chips have not been released yet so we have no benchmarks or no usable data to go off of, so at this point the variables we have is already listed. 1500x has 300 mhz more for $30.

So what it comes down to is you can either wait until benchmarks come out, or if you want the chp asap then the only decision you need to make is if $30 is worth the 300mhz to you.

It is tough to give recommendations when we have not seen benchmarks yet. But You can get a Core I5 7600k for those prices, I would wait to see how it performs. I have a feeling the I5 will still win the price/performance, especially in gaming.

I am actually living in Bulgaria and these are the two cheapest options i have right now . I used XE to convert it to $ since most people here operate in that currency .

There are a couple of benchmarks here and there if you look closely .

I have the budget but i want to cut from the total price here and there , i was wondering if the extra cash is worth for what i am getting .

The Ryzen 5 1500X has double the L3 cache of the Ryzen 5 (16MB vs 8MB), so if you plan to use cache-sensitive applications, the 1500X is the way to go.

Can you give me a few examples of cache-sensitive aplications ? The CPU will mainly be used for Gaming / Twitch streaming.
