Recently Virgin did work on my whole area upgrading the cable or something and since then I have been getting massively reduced speed and high ping. I did a traceroute but I don't really know much about it, would it suggest the issue is on virgins end?

Looks like the 2nd hop outside of your house is where the problem begins. Lines 3 and 5 are Virgin equipment, and also where you're seeing the increased latency.

Your best option is to talk to Virgin directly. It is apparent to me that it is a problem on their end, not yours.

yeah thats probably why mines 1ms and yours isnt then got mine connected by ethernet cable

what speed you getting if you do a speedtest?

what speed are you paying for/meant to get?

and what speed does the router say its getting?
