Trying to figure out whether to use IDEA OR RAID configuration.

I have a 9 year old Acer Verizon M661 desktop. I have 2 hard drives and when I turn it on it takes forever or doesn't load the operating system. I just downloaded windows 10 and was working for several months. Does it matter whether the CMOS setting's is set to IDENTIFY OR RAID OR AHCI?

Solution
Are the drives mechanical HDD's and are they connected via SATA or PATA? I'm assuming SATA according to the online specs I found.

What is the IDE currently set to in the BIOS? If you are using just one drive to boot and the other as storage, it should be set to AHCI. With that said, if you were to change the BIOS to a different IDE configuration after Windows 10 was installed, it will freak out and not work right. If it was set to IDE/Legacy, windows installed, and then changed to AHCI, the registry in Windows would need to be changed as well. Same goes the opposite.

I once installed Windows on my machine with 2 drives and for some reason it wrote the boot sector to one drive and windows to the other! Never told it to do that...
