Which is better/ faster for gameing

So I am wanting to upgrade my CPU it's getting hard for it to run some of the new games for example player unknowns battle grounds! So I was wonder which is faster Intel Core i7-7700K 4.2ghz quad core or the AMD RYZEN 7 1800X 3.6ghz 8 core

I understand to make sure compatabilty with mother Board and stuff which isn't a problem just want to know which would be better for gameing?

right now the it seems the 7700K is better for gaming. even with the 1800X having more cores then intel's 7700K it still is more efficient. plus intel CPU's are on a more mature platform while the 1800X is on a platform that hasn't even been out for a month yet
