I'm thinking about either getting an i5 7500 or a Ryzen 5 1500x. Which one would be better for gaming (specifically DayZ, Blackwake, Just Cause, etc)? Do you think 8 threads would make a big difference compared to the 7500's 4 threads?
I second the wait.... 2 weeks isn't all that long. After that, you'll have a better idea where the Ryzen R5 sits in comparison to the i5-7500. Nobody that isn't under an NDA knows for 100% certain anyway.

We know it's just a R7 with 6c/12t vs 8c/16t so we know it's going to be decent, better than any recent non multiplier unlocked i5, which can't be overclocked and only has 4c/4t.

But again users can`t believe Intel Kaby Lake CPU Quad Cores CPU able beat most of their 8 Core / 16 Threads Ryzen 7 CPU in applications and games.
Just hoping this not like Intel i3 6100 beating most of the AMD FX CPU up to 9590 in applications and games ... all over again.
