Hi all,

Specs: Windows 10 Education 64-bit (free through my school) CPU: Intel i5-6600k 3.5GHz Quad-core MOBO: Gigabyte Z170x Gaming 5 ATX LGA 1151 Memory: Crucial Ballistix Sport 8 GB (2x4GB) DDR4 Storage: Crucial MX300 275 GB SSD GPU: Asus GeForce GTX 1070 Overclocked 8GB Case: Inwin 303 PSU: Corsair CX 650M

I was playing Ghost Recon Wildlands with my brother this past Saturday for a couple hours. We took a break for about an hour and a half and then planned to get back on. While my brother was away, I tried playing For Honor (through Ubisoft, not steam) and the game would crash while it was trying to connect to the servers. I thought it was weird but just figured it was a problem with the Ubisoft servers. Before the break, my computer was running Wildlands fine with no FPS drops or freezing. But after an hour the game would load normally but freeze at or just before the title screen. What's weird is that I can still move the mouse across the screen when it does freeze. Also, I was able to load the game up once and had a chance to play for a minute or two before the game froze again. My brother encountered the same problem but he said it cleared up once he updated steam. I searched for steam updates but my version was the most up to date version.

To try and solve this problem, I uninstalled both Wildlands and For Honor and then reinstalled them, which led to the same results. I also uninstalled steam and reinstalled, which didn't help. I unplugged both my SSD from the computer completely and then plugged it back in. I also removed my graphics card and blasted it with ultra duster canned air. I also recently uninstalled and reinstalled my GPU drivers using DDU.

I'm fairly new to owning a custom computer as I built it around the New Year so i'm a bit overwhelmed on where the problem might be. Again, I've had no problems running games or anything else on my computer up until this past Saturday.

Thank you in advance!

EDIT: I've also noticed that the sound for the opening title sequence ("This is operation King Slayer" or whatever the lady says) is present and I can see the subtitles, but I can't hear the lady talking. This also happened when I opened the Netflix application and I could hear music and background noise but not the characters voices.
