2 wireless routers one dedicated to my uverse directv receiver other for my wireless devices for streaming and etc

I have a NVG589 gateway from uverse which is good for direct connection but my apartment cant really can't be wired to hardwire receiver without cables everywhere. Dsl jack is on opposite side of apartment than the reciever and signal is horrible when wireless devices attached for on demand and streaming. I bought a WNR2000V5 and would like to use it for my wireless devices and dedicate signal from NVG589 to receiver

Try powerline networking to bring the network to the dead spots and use the WNR2000V5 as an access point there. Or use an ethernet cable to place the WNR2000V5 as an access point nearer to the center of the apartment and turn off the wifi on the gateway.
