Best Operating system for gaming server?

G'day,
Recently bought a Dell poweredge 2950 and am now trying to decide which os would best suit my needs.


Purpose of server?
Host game servers
- ark
- arma
- and maybe a few more

Host teamspeak

Keep in mind that I have 0 experience with Linux (CentOS ect)

The creators of the game servers...what do they recommend?
In this instance, Linux is not that hard.

A WinServer OS will start at around $500. Server 2012 Essentials, for instance.
Linux is free.

Well...
If that Server2003 license is not an Enterprise license that needs to talk to a corporate server (it might be), and your game servers will run on it...then use it.
But do a full reinstall of the OS and see how the activation goes before you go too far into the game server config.
