So I have another question..

I have a APEVIA X-MASTER HTPC Case https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811144231 that will be here tomorrow. It comes with a presumably low quality 500w PSU.

My questions is: Is it worth giving this PSU a shot or should I use my OCZ 550 Watt 80+ Fatal1ty that is very old (6 years, was used for 3 years and the other 3 were spent in a closet). I bread boarded my HTPC system using this PSU and everything seemed fine but it was only in use for about an hour. I have tested the PSU using a simple tester and everything checked out.

HTPC SPECS:
SSD: SanDisk SSD PLUS 2.5" 120GB
GFX: HIS Radeon HD 7850 2GB https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16...
CPU: AMD FX-6300 Vishera 6-Core 3.5 GHz https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16...
RAM: G.SKILL Sniper Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16...
MOBO: ASRock 990FX Extreme3 https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16...
Sound: Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE 7.1 Channels 24-bit https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16...
PSU: Fatal1ty Gaming Series 550 Watt 80+ Semi-Modular https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16...

If the old one is compatible, then I'd probably drop that one into your HTPC and keep the new one as a temporary spare. If your old one starts having issues and your system is shutting down during high power usage, then I'd probably put the new one in as a temporary fix just long enough for you to purchase and install a new, quality power supply.

The problem you may run into is that the HTPC case you're getting has a front-mounted PSU and it connects to the rear of the case via another cable. Whether that other cable is compatible to your old power supply will determine if you can even use it.
