Hello. I am a video editor/ YouTuber who is looking to build a pc for editing under $500. What CPU do you recommend on the Intel side?

That's a pretty low budget if you want Intel, my friend. If you want Intel, maybe try and find a used cheap multi core Xeon out there, if not, try and AMD processor, although it will be much worse than Intel for a number of reasons. As for your GPU, try a 1050 if you must.

I already plan to use the Zotac 1050. What AMD processor would you recommend? I am editing using Davinci resolve 12.5 at 1080p30

You need a better build as the software you gonna use requires beefy CPU. For graphics card gtx 1050 is ok for 1080p editing. But you need to spend some money on the CPU as rendering is a CPU bound process. Try getting at least 6- core CU with 16 gb ram.

With that budget you cannot buy the whole build. for cpu only you can get away with ryzen 7 1700. that will leave you with 100 bucks left.
be realistic with expectations. You cannot say I want to build a good workstation for the money of an xbox one s.
