But of I don't have over 100mb with 2 connections then do I need the gigabyte one ?

 


that gigabit switch is newer technology so it would be more reliable then the 100mb one you linked to.

True, but you do. There is a difference between "MB" (MegaByte) and "Mb" (Megabit). Your Internet speed is measured in Bytes. Your Ethernet speed is measured in bits. There are 8 bits to a byte, so loosely translated, your 30MB up is actually 240 Mb.
