Can't connect to wifi on my desktop

For some reason my desktop refuses to show any wifi connections including any other ones around me. I turned on the hotspot on my phone and for some reason was able to show that anyone know why?

The first thing to do in this situation is uninstall (but not delete) the driver and restart the computer. If that doesn't solve the problem, download a new driver directly from the hardware manufacturer, (computer or wifi card maker) and install it.
