Can A GPU laptop decrease performance due to its oldness?

my laptop isnt old but when it turned to, will or can decrease performance because I use it for gaming everyday and just wondering about it.
Are you asking the question because you feel your laptop isn't performing well?
I would add that it's likely not the hardware, but the software bloat that has been added over time, (O/S patches, drivers, additional software, etc.). Additionally, while everything else around you has advanced in technology, your laptop has not (and wouldn't).
