Hi guys ive just ordered the Auna ariel 525 5.1 surround sound system .Just had a thought will this system need a receiver as im new to all this ...Thanks

Hi, this system is designed to use the analogue surround sound outputs found on the back of DVD and blu ray players. Not all players wiil come with these audio outputs and you may need a converter box like this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AC3-DTS-Digital-Optical-Audio-To-5-1-2-1-Channel-Stereo-Analog-RCA-Converter-BH-/311716445963?hash=item4893bf7f0b:g:iowAAOSwh2xX-7vz

This takes the optical feed from your cable box / dvd / blue ray and converts it into seperate analogue outputs, which then plug into the corresponding inputs on the back of your subwoofer. You can take a look at the converter and match the outputs to the inputs on your speaker system.
