Not a good sign.
Stop installing anything.
Any thing you do could cause further damage and permanent data loss.
Open the case and inspect the installation. Make sure that the drive is properly mounted and securely in place.
Run the WD diagnostic software and see what the results may reveal.
Contact WD via the drive's waranty.
Also be aware that there are WD folks who monitor this forum. Hopefully one of them will read your post and respond with additional suggestions. Keep an eye on your post and watch for other responses.
