Hi,
I used to have an NZXT H440, the case got damaged and I decided to replace it with one from fractal design. Recently the fractal case had to be replaced and I went for another H440. This time around I couldn't get any of the case fans to spin when I powered up the PC. After a while I noticed the H440 fan controller had a power cable with a molex connector on the end.

I have no cables that fit that connector, so there is no possible way to power the case fans. Does anyone know what kind of wire I need to power the fan controller? I thought I could get a molex to sata converter and connect it to a sata PSU cable.

Also why did the fractal r5 not need this cable, it came with fan connectors built into the case. What would this be called? Built in fan controller?
thanks

The other way around.

The SATA connectors you use for your HDD/SSD and be converted to molex so you can power the fan controller.

Just take a spare SATA connector from your PSU, connect the adapter, then connect the molex connector from the fan controller to the adapter and you'll be on your way.

So to power the controller it would be ok to convert the molex plug into sata and then connect it to a hard drive/SSD conneciton?
