Good afternoon all,

Hoping for some advice here. I stream games via twitch using OBS as my software. I play mostly Overwatch, but like to stream a variety of games. I have a 4790K Intel , i do not OC it. I hit 100% CPU load while streaming/gaming extremely often and my stream suffers or my FPS will drop in game. I have read tons about OBS and what i can do to manage its consumption but little seems to help. I stream in 720P at 30FPS with low quality encoding to reduce load, yet still OBS uses close to 30 % of my CPU (more sometimes). Any advice or tips ? I am wondering if there is something wrong with my setup. After consulting friends who have worse builds and higher stream settings without issue i wonder what might be causing me Grief. Thanks for the help!

GPU 1080TI
MOBO Asus Maximus V2
PSU 850WATT

You can try going to run >> msconfig and open startup apps and disable everything just bare essentials reboot machine see if results change.

Thanks Esco. I had thoguht about both, but using the NVENC lowers the quality a bit too much for my liking. I have monitured my CPU usage, and nothing is taking any significant amount of power, its just the game im running and the streaming service (OBS, or XSPLIT) . That is why i am at such a loss as to what could cause such consumption.
