CPU Temperature Random Short Spikes

After my AIO thermaltake CPU water cooler died on me, I swapped it out for the stock fan that came with my i7 4770k processor. Of course I cleaned off the old thermal paste and added new thermal paste. Temperatures seem to be decent so far for air cooling, usually around 35-40C... But ever since I had that initial overheating issue after the water cooling unit died, I've been extremely cautious and aware of my cpu temperatures unlike ever before. Now I am noticing the temperature will randomly spike up to 75C for a few seconds then back down to 40ish immediately. Is this normal or should I be concerned? I'm using Core Temp to monitor which I hear isn't all that accurate, but I've also been checking regularly with HWInfo which has also been reporting the same temperatures in the min, max, and avg columns.

Hello!

This is nothing to be concerned about, as system utilization is commonly known to spike due to Windows background tasks, creating hot temperatures for a brief moment.

75 °C is also nothing to be worried about, this is still a safe temperature.

Hope I was of some help!
