So i'm asking what kind of Intel CPU i can get. I don't want to pay stupid prices so looking for the best i5 i can possibly get that will let me play all games max with no bottle necking :p

Current build is -

CPU: AMD FX 8350 4.3GHZ
Mobo: MSI 970
Ram: Hyper X ram 16gb (4x4)
PSU: Aerocool MOD XT 750W Modular 80plus Power Supply
GPU: AMD RX480 Asus Strix gaming 8GB.

Solution
Not true. Current trend is for games to use a minimum of 4 threads and possibly up to 8, with some few games showing possibilities of using more. Ashes of the Singularity simply will not play at all on 4 thread cpus. Gta:V, WoW, tombraider, Starwars Battlefront, BF4, BF1, Witcher 3, all do much better on a 8 thread capable cpu. Mostly it'll depend entirely on the optimization of the game, any added mods, even monitor frequency.

It used to be a few years ago that a dual core was enough and quads were excessive, then the trend opened up and quads were more than enough for anything and HT was really unnecessary. That trend is outdated now and quads are barely enough with HT becoming more important. This means in the long run, there will...

Any i5K Ivy-Bridge and newer can handle the 480-8 and not worry about bottlenecks for the most part. There will be games that are high usage cpu no matter what i5 is used. Only an AMD R7 or Intel i7 can alleviate those issues, 8 thread usage vrs 4 threads of the i5. You will also need the appropriate motherboard, Z77-270 depending on the cpu series.

Intel doesn't make many i5's, and all of them will require that you buy an Intel motherboard. Right now, Intel sells an i5 7400, 7500, 7600 and 7600K, as well as a handful of lower power variants. The first 3 are locked, with each higher model slightly more expensive and slightly faster. The "K" model requires a more expensive "Z" motherboard, and does not come with a cooler, so it's not very cost effective.

This is pretty standard:

Any i5 will still have some drops below 60fps in some games. An i7 is what you'll want for "no bottlenecking", but the i5 7500 is good enough for most people.

best i5? go to the 7th gen Intel i5. i5-7500 or i5-7600 is enough for your gaming experience :) it is 4 cores and 4 threads...for the motherboard? go with b250 chipset motherboard...you don't need the K series of i5 because i think you are not overclocking and also it is so expensive than the non k series :)

chugalug_ - My Budget isn't that much of an issue though im just looking for a cost effective upgrade. I have been looking at the Kaby Lake i7 7700K and may take the plunge and get that.
But i want to try and save as many bucks as possible.

So for power/price should i get a I5 or I7.
As i play ME:A and having performance issues with the 8350 though never had them before the Driver update so it may just be that.

Any more info would be greatly appreciated guys.

OP can Go for this since you only there to play games.

If you getting Intel i7 7700 or 7700K you gotta do more than just gaming if not go for Gaming Intel i5 7500, 7600 or 7600K (only if you plan to overclock - you have to spend more to get a good Cooler)

You use the extra bucks to buy other better components.
