So this desktop I have is a secondhand from a friend of mine. When I bought it, I was told that there are 2 SSDs and 1 HDD inside; the first SSD for boot and games, the second for backup (?), and the HDD for storage. After using it for quite some time, I decided that the second SSD wasn't needed for backup as I needed more storage for high-end games so I decided to partition it. However, when I looked inside Disk Management, it doesn't list the second SSD. I've looked through cmd's DISKPART and Samsung Magic to see if it can detect the SSD and sadly it doesn't. After looking on here and previous threads, I've come to the conclusion that this second SSD is either dead, or I need a different SATA cable for it.

What I've noticed after opening the case for my PC is that, the SSD that is working is connected by a black SATA cable that says 6 GB/s on it while the one that doesnt work has a generic blue cable. The power connecting the SSD that isnt being detected is also connected to the HDD which is working. So before I purchase another SATA Cable or toss this SSD out, I wanted to ask here to make sure I didn't miss anything.

Thank you!

Solution
1. We'll assume there's no problem with the WD HDD, so temporarily disconnect it from the system by just disconnecting its SATA data connector.

2. Boot to the system so that you boot to the OS on one of the Samsung SSDs.

3. We'll assume no problem with the boot to the OS and the SSD boot drive functions without problems.

4. Check Device Manager & then Disk Management. Are both SSDs listed in Device Manager?

5. In Disk Management, is the non-booting SSD listed? And does it bear a drive letter? If it doesn't, use DM to assign a drive letter ("Change Drive Letter and...") option .

6. Using the latest version of Samsung Magician, see if both Samsung SSDs are detected and the diagnostic program indicates no problems with the health of...

I'm not quite sure what you mean, as I said above this desktop is a secondhand that I received from a friend of mine so I'm not too aware of what each part is.
