Upgrade CPU or GPU?

I currently have a 4790K on an ASRock Z97 Extreme4 and an EVGA GTX980-SC, is it worthwhile upgrading the CPU or the GPU more? I play games like R6S, Division, GhostRecon, PU BG, BF1, etc. I was thinking a GTX1080 since GTX1080ti just came out, but would upgrading to a newer processor help more or less than a GPU upgrade?

I would definitely upgrade your GPU. The 4790K is still great, and still few chips are much better. Something like a 7700k would see a slight improvement, but not much. I decided to keep my 4790k with my Titan X Pascal, and has not been an issue on anything at all.

Don't underestimate the power of the CPU. Most i3 CPU's can run a 90% with a GTX 1080 Ti. Your chip is perfectly fine, to hold the 1080 Ti.

I recommend getting a new GPU, your CPU can handle the extra load.
