Your initial parts as good as it is (except for the PSU, which I would substitute for a better quality and ample ~550W model and the SSD, which I would get a 240GB unless you'll only be installing the OS and some applications in there). However, if you wish to bring down the costs to ~$1000, I would change some parts to this suggested build:

I would add the SSD later on (as purchasing this on the first batch would exceed your budget). The GPU was also changed to an RX 480 8GB, good foor 1080p/60Hz+ gaming (esp. if you get a FreeSync monitor). The GTX 1070 is my choice for 1080p/120Hz++ gaming (or 1440p/60Hz) but the costs just does not fit your budget. The CPU Air Cooler (white) would be good temporary cooler until such time you have practiced overclocking and ready to get a 240mm-sized rad DeepCool 240 Captain EX.

To get that under $1000 take raisin's build, take out the $15 a pop fans, and add in an SSD. If you need more fans, substitute in a low quality 3-for-10 pack or something of the sort that you can find off of Newegg for the time being. If you don't absolutely need them, I'd say buy the SSD first and get the fans later on.
