Hey all,
I've recently upgrading my gpu and ram, since then, ive noticed after i leave my computer for a couple hours at a time, my computer has restarted. It doesnt this daily and ive not yet been able to find a solution. However i recently saw someone else having a problem and i think maybe it could be my power supply not being able to hold up for hours? If this is the problem i would also like some upgrades for that given also if possible, thanks!

CPU-Z is a lightweight little tool which will give you most of your specs: http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html

CPU in the CPU tab
Motherboard in the "Mainboard" tab
RAM fromi the "SPD" tab (that will give you the actual RAM brand and model number for each stick)
It's not great at telling you the specific GPU, sometimes just lists the "series". But if you bought it recently then you should be able to get the make and model no?

PSU, should be printed on the product itself somewhere.
Unfortunately those sorts of random issues are the most difficult to troubleshoot. It could be your powersupply, although in my experience PSU issues usually result in a hard power off rather a reboot.

We've had quite a few Windows Updates recently, it's not just Windows 10 rebooting your computer on you is it? That's caught me before.

Another option is to start looking at your event viewer to see. If it's a software issue, or even some hardware issues, it should log something in the event log. Or you should at least see a warning about an unexpected shutdown. If that's NOT there, then it really can't be PSU because there's no facility for a normal PSU to gracefully shut down your PC.

Having said all that, can you list your full system specs? If you're running new hardware on an old, cheap PSU, it might be a good idea to replace it anyway. Just last week a good mate of mine had to replace most of his components because his old PSU blew and took the motherboard with it.

Could you tell me how to get my full specs? I've looked a little bit in event viewer and google the errors or unexpected shutdowns but none of them have really had the same error, it never happened with my old gpu and ram so that's what's making me think it's somehow effecting it, I've looked through power settings and don't see anything off, damn windows 10!

you have checked to make sure it's not windows update or your power settings ? not your antivirus doing a scan and then rebooting to clear up any infections ?

edit: just read through your previous posts.
