For the most part I play games like path of exile, skyrim, terraria , factorio , eve online world of warcraft etc I rarely play straight fps games where i see a benefit to them was hoping for input from people who has one and does the same with it
ya I wanted a rgb brown switch keyboard but couldnt find one close to the price of logtiech g710 plus if I did get one most i could see spending but either way more input would be awesome its a expsenive thing for not playing alot of fps games
Types of games don't really have anything to do with your selection of the keyboard, do you like the feel of a mechanical and the look of them? Can you afford it? Then get it. A good keyboard is a good keyboard. It's like saying "should I buy a BMW M3 if I don't race?", does not matter, if you like the card and handling and can pay for it, get it.
I got my son a GSkill RGB with brown switches, was a bit over $100 on sale, it's $140 now but I have seen it drop lower...
I don't play games on my computer 100% of the time but I prefer a mechanical when I'm working on a computer.
I highly recommend you buy a key sampler or at least try the different switches somehow before deciding what to buy. There are a few types of switches that cater to what might be important to you. For me I wanted some tactile feedback without out being too noisy so I went with cherry mx brown.
Also I highly recommend Ducky One with PBT keys, so far my favorite of my 3 mechanicals. PBT is a type of plastic and it has a much more solid feel than ABS keys.
Do your research and test for yourself when you can.
A lot of users find mechanical keyboards more comfortable to use than cheaper diaphragm style keyboards. I honestly would recommend you try one out for yourself, as this is entirely subjective.
nzalog brings up a good point about there being a lot of choice in mechanical feel. Try as many different mechanical switch styles as you think you need to, as a decent keyboard can be a worthwhile investment.

I hate to crap on products because I'm sure there are people that love the Logitechs. But after using a Ducky One and a Leopold. The Logitechs felt like cheap plastic toys. On the other hand they can be bought for much less than a Leopold or Ducky.
Here, this is a good site for sorting out keyboard based on what you want. Use their advanced search and you can specify your requirements. You don't got to buy there but I did find it to be a great resource.
