Hello guys. I'm getting an Asus Strix Z270E motherboard with a Samsung 960 EVO NVMe M.2 SSD. If at a later date I want to add a second 960 EVO, exactly the same, does this build support it? Thanks for the help.
That board can support (2) M2 ssd's without any drawbacks. If you try to add a 3rd drive, you lose use of the 3rd gpu slot/3.1 usb header/ x1 pci-express lanes, which are all shared.
It should work but you'll have to check the manual to see if it will steal PCIe lanes from something else. I'd bet you'll lose lanes on the secondary PCIe slot or from USB3.0 connectivity.

Not sure how to check that to be honest. I'm new at this.

Oh great, so using 2 is perfectly fine without any drawbacks? Just want to make sure before I commit to the purchase.
