Was the Tv advertised at 1080p or 1080i?

"When your TV is sent a 1080i signal, however, a different process occurs: deinterlacing. This is when the TV combines the two fields into frames. If it's done right, the TV repeats each full frame to create 60 "fps" from the original 30.

If it's done wrong, the TV instead takes each field, and just doubles the information. So you're actually getting 1,920x540p. Many early 1080p HDTVs did this, but pretty much no modern one does. In a TV review, this is the main thing we're checking when we test deinterlacing prowess."

"Problems with 1080p
The drawback is that 1080p as currently in use has a frame rate that is only half of the field rate of 1080i so the motion is noticeably less fluid – in fact it’s exactly twice less fluid which is a lot. You can see it on large flat TVs that often deinterlace the video to be able to display it on their LCD screens (that, unlike CRT displays, are progressive in nature) which is the cause that they display picture of very high resolution but with jerky motion and some deinterlacing artifacts.

Another problem is that usually 1080i is required for TV broadcasting which means that 1080p is simply out of the question for some applications."

Well that article was posted 4 years back, you would think things have caught up now with 1080p. Since 4k seems to be starting to be implemented. The 1080ps should be getting improved more so you would think

Yeah. But we don't know if his TV is 4 years old! 1080i native makes me think it could be.

OP, could we get the model # of your screen?

So there is no way thay i can play with 1920x 1080 resolution or higher at 60hz? Because for example when i launch dark souls 3 and the hz are set to 30 the screen starts blinking and i cant play (and i also want to play at more than 30 fps)

What happens when you set your computer's resolution to 1600x900 or 1280x720? Do the same flickers / graphical errors occur at the lower resolutions?

Would you be okay with going into the TV settings and doing a factory reset?

it`s the last thing i want to try, i noticed that in all the resolutions that are 1080i the image is a bit blurried and with all the resolution that are 1080p the image is pixelated
