Windows 10 won't boot after Bios update

I have updated the Bios on my motherboard now I can't get past the windows logo screen. It just crashes the three little white dots aren't even turning. I have tried updating it again through Bios rather than app centre still doesn't work. Tried using the windows recovery disc and I can't even get to install screen. I'm using the gigabyte ab350m gaming motherboard with ryzen 7 1700

after you updated the BIOS did you go back into it and set it to default settings? you usually have to do that after a BIOS update

Usually you do it before the BIOS update , if anything was overclocked.

You likely now have a mismatched boot or disk type.

Windows was installed for UEFI or legacy bios boot method, and installed for AHCI or RAID mode.
If windows 10 was setup for UEFI and it is now in legacy mode it wont boot (If windows 10 was upgraded from windows 7 then the bios likley needs to be legacy mode).

It was a clean windows 10 install from new. It give me 2 option for disk drive both are the same but one has uefi in front of it. Neither work.

first of all, what bios update ???? there isnt any, theres only F2 first release on the website, which makes me think you've flashed the wrong bios.

2nd, never update the bios in Windows with the app centre.

3rd if you flashed the F3 beta I posted on another forum, I did state in my second post not to bother flashing it as it was faulty, so if you can get the computer to post, then download F2 and get it back on your board as quick as possible, RAM is compl;etely unstable on F3 even at SPD, reported to Gigabyte who sent me the beta.

I had the f3 read that it was faulty so flashed back to f2 that's when the problem started. Downloaded f2 on laptop and stuck it on USB and reflashed in bios and still nothing

after flashing F2, and it reboot, turn off the computer and clear the cmos using the jumper on the board (2 pins just above the front panel IO pins) short them with a flat head screw driver or knife or similar for about 5-10 seconds.

You will need to set your date and time correctly as this will also be reset.

Next you will need to enter the bios and configure it, try UEFi mode with CSM disabled, select Windows 10 WHQL as the OS, leave the MIT menu alone, that will all be at stock for now, reboot back to the bios and set your boot order up and also if you were running your drives in AHCI mode or were you using RAID ? this will need to be configured too, reboot and see if it boots, if not then:

try the same with CSM enabled, again select Windows 10 WHQL as the OS, reboot back to the bios and set your boot order up and also if you were running AHCI mode or were you using RAID reboot and see if it boots.

If not one last try with Other OS selected instead of Windows 10.

(CSM disabled = Windows 10 pure UEFI mode)
(CSM enabled = Windows 10 UEFI with legacy support)
(Other OS = legacy mode only)

Let us know how it goes please, I dont recommend anyone update to a beta bios unless you completely know what your're doing, or dont mind killing your board.

Legacy support is in the BIOS menu, under windows 10 features - select Windows 10 WHQL, then enable CSM, now change Windows 10 WHQL back to Other OS, you are now in Legacy mode.

Does it see your hard drive in the bios, im using RAID so its a bit harder for me to show pictures, but here's some picts of how my bios is setup:

At the top of one of the picts, where mine says windows boot manager (AMD RAID), yours should either say Windows boot manager or show your actual boot hard drive model.

OK, I think I see the problem.

First of all, the top 2 boot devices are your CD/DVD drive, select them and select Disable, your OCZ drive will move to the top of the list as your only boot device.

Looks like you have the Windows CD in the Drive, thats why it appears twice, one to install windows in UEFI mode and once to install windows in legacy mode.

now here's where I think I see the problem, in the MIT menu, turn off XMP on your memory, leave XMP disabled, and all other memory settings on auto, memory timings on auto, speed on auto, memory voltage auto, this board at the moment struggles with memory which is one of the things Gigabyte are trying to fix in the next bios update, unfortunately they're not getting it very right at the moment, as soon as they give me a stable one and ive tested it too, i'll post it, F3 at the moment is a fail.

once you save and exit, your computer may post loop 3 or 4 times, just let it do its thing, its just resetting all the memory settings, eventually it will come on and stay on.

Xmp is disabled and everything is on auto haven't touched that stuff. I changed the memory as well as the first ones I bought weren't on the supported list. The windows cd is in there as what to get to the installation screen but I can't even reach that

Your screen shot says you have 16gb of RAM, running at 2500mhz pretty much and 1.35v, it should boot at SPD if everything is on auto, 1.2v 2133mhz, thats why I thought you had XMP on (profile 1), and if thats overclocked, that would explain the freezes.
