Well, another year another disastrous upgrade.

I have the following:

I7-7700K
Asus Z270E Gaming
Lpx Corsair Vengeance 2400mhz DDR4
Win-Power ATX-800w PSU

Basically I've got it connected up at its base level and I'm getting nothing from it. It doesn't come with a system speaker (of course) but after clearing CMOS, trying both ram sticks together, separately and in various combinations and I'm getting nothing. I've reseated and remounted the CPU as well, still no joy.

All the power and fans etc fire up but on both my HDMI TV and DVI monitor I'm getting nothing from onboard graphics.

Is this just a bad motherboard? I've seen similar problems from others. TBH.

Any help'd be greatly appreciated, I've spent £1k on this rig and I'm not going to let it beat me or forced to reinstall the old one :(

Thanks in advance fellas.

Well that 30 quid fire hazard dressed up like a PSU isn't helping your cause. Just because some parts power up doesn't mean it is delivering sufficient power on all rails to fully power the system. That may or may not be the issue but it's definitely something that should be addressed.

What bios rev is the board running(usually a sticker on the board or box that shows the installed bios revision. I have heard of a couple of reports with the Z270e coming with an older bios that is not Kaby Lake compatible. Which if true ois a fairly large oops on ASUS's part as the 200 series was touted as being Kaby Lake compatible out of the box.

PSU-wise I've had it a very long time and it looks like I'll probably replace.

Upon further removal of the parts back to being totally stripped I've noticed a couple of burnt parts on the back (the little things pegs on the back, I've assumed that was the problem and bought another and will probably RMA the original board.

New one coming tomorrow so I'll let you guys know.

Thanks :)
