In my previous (and my first build ever), I had no idea about the QVL List and I got a nice pair of RAM which turned out to be a big issue every time I re-assembled. ASUS P8Z77-V mobo, on every re-assemble, would light up the DRAM LED solid red for no reason and I would go crazy trying all permutations and reading the manual and resetting BIOS using the BIOS Cap and unplugging the power chord and a lot more stuff... ugh.
About 2 days ago, something happened and now my PC is just stuck on the DRAM LED solid red and I tried everything possible but it didn't work. I got the RAM tested and it was perfectly fine and I'm pissed off with this annoying problem getting between my work.
Now in my new build, to avoid these unnecessary annoying problems, should I select RAM from the QVL List ONLY? New motherboard im buying is ASUS Strix z270E and I'm looking forward for a G.Skill Trident Z RGB 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4 3200MHz (F4-3200C16D-16GTZR)
which is NOT on the QVL List for ASUS Strix z270E.
Some overclocking issues, I can understand but system not even reaching POST? Unacceptable. Will this RAM work properly with my new build? What are the errors or problems I can expect?
