Hello:). So yesterday i bought 2 new ram dimms, but when i tried to use them in my pc, the system didn't detect them. I already had to ram dimms in my pc (HyperX Fury), and the new ones i bought is (HyperX Beast). They are both DDR3 dimms, both 2x4 Gb, and both have the same Mhz clock (1600mhz). My mobo is a Gigagyte F2A78M-D3H, which im pretty sure supports it, since it has 4 dimm slots. My 2 Fury ones, which i had from the start, is working fine, but it does'nt detect/use the other 2x4gb of memory. I've read that i should go for same dimms, if possible, but these were on sale, and the same manufactor made them both..? Any help:))?
Thanks-<3

Solution
have you tried to test them separately?

you also might want to search through the bios if there`s an option to turn on dual channel. i`m not experienced with uefi bios settings so i couldn`t tell if such an option existed or not.

if not than I guess that the brands are not compatible.
you could try selling them (the new ones or the old ones) and get a second pair of the model which you kept.
Any ram that doesn't work is too expensive, even on sale! Getting unmatched ram (even same brand, make, model, etc) to work is problematical at best, impossible at worst. Does the new ram work by itself in slots 1 & 2? If it works by itself and your old ram works by itself, then they are incompatible with each other, and will not work together.

Can you remove your old memory and put the new memory in its place?
If the new memory works there then, as I said before, it is incompatible with your old memory. Again, any memory that won't work with your old memory is too expensive, no matter how good the sale!

So yeah, i know where you are going, but i tried Cpu-z, and saw what that said.

Here is a picture again, where Cpu-z says i actually have 16 gigs of ram, but im only running single-channel?? :C Ill look trough bois, in a min, and try to enable dual-channel:)?

Being detected and working are two different things. That could also explain the dual channel thing. Just replace your old memory with the new memory. Do not install your old memory at this time. See if the new memory will work with your system by itself, dual channel and all. Run Memtest86 on just the new memory. If those tests are successful, then we know that the new memory is incompatible with your old memory, and there is NOTHING that will make them compatible. Send the new memory back. Since it doesn't work, it is too expensive, even if it was free!

its DDR
it stands for double data rate.
so you have to multiply 800Mhz with 2 and thats the actual speed.
with actual i mean 800Mhz in one direction and the other 800 in the opposite direction.
but this might be to difficult to understand at the moment.

I`ll verify if you could post another picture if you like.
edit oops i didnt see the link.

Well. i installed both sets of ram in the colour matched dimmslots, but CPUZ still says it Single-channel, so does Speccy. I cleared Cmos, and it should automaticly make it to dual-channel? plus windows tells me i only have 8 gbs, for some reason?... im new to the whole "ram thing", and i didnt actually know it was this confusing. lol

http://uploadsheep.com/image/XS59)
http://uploadsheep.com/image/XAZt - 8 Gb ram ( 6,94 can be used)

U can see i in my greatest picture of my life, that the ram, are supossed to be in dual-channel?:c

Edit: The Bios looked like this http://uploadsheep.com/image/Xlpq,
but after Bios update and Cmos clear its like this
but now the ones showing 4096mb, is slot 2 & 4 insted og 1 & 2?
