Hi everyone,
basically I bought the hyper 212 evo today and I love it, straight of the bat I have been getting low temps like 27-30 idle. I overclocked my CPU (4770k) to 4ghz at 1.2505v. Problem is that I have been getting average around 80-90 degrees on stress running using prime 95, but for like 2 minutes it went to 90-100 degrees on all cores. Just so you know that when I was installing the cooler, I had to take it off a few times as I couldnt place it properly (note the thermal paste was already applied) and the thermal paste was smudged and evenly spread out, so my question is will I have to re apply the thermal paste to get lower temps?

Another question is, I tried to clock the speed to 44ghz at like 1.2v but i would get a blue screen, so what do i have to do in the bios to prevent the crash?
please help URGENT!

Solution
Try another benchmark tool, prime95 is a weird one.
It's also not an example of realistic CPU work loads.
Intel Xtremem Tuning Utility is a good choice.
