Hi guys, so I'm looking for a PSU and this is my first build. I don't know which PSU's are good and which ones I need to stay away from and how large a PSU I actually need.

Do I only need a 500W? and if so any recommendations? I'd like to spend under $30 and I'm planning on buying it second hand.

I would recommend spending a little bit more on your power supply, its the life blood of your system! But if you're super strapped for cash then SR-17's suggestion is a safe bet.

I would go with SR-71's suggestion.
If you got the money or plan on upgrading your build in the future, I'd recommend the EVGA Supernova 650W G2 Gold 80+ as it's power efficient, quiet, and eco friendly. It's hands down, one of the best PSUs out there.
