I use Rogers Canada Internet

When I do ping test, I sometimes get around 5ms to 25 ms jitter

I am currently using 100ft CAT6 cable from 1st floor to 2nd floor

but thinking about getting a router for second floor as well

will the jitter issue be fixed with a new router??

and which router do you recommend?

5-25ms of jitter is nothing. Almost any thing that is timing dependent can tolerate some jitter. Things like VoIP in general have 100-200ms jitter buffers to smooth out issues. If you were to see 100ms of jitter then you might have something to worry about it depends how often it happens.

Now I assume you are not getting this on a ping to your router. If you are seeing jitter on the ping to your router you have a large issue that may require you to replace the router. If you have no jitter in your house then it can only make things worse to add more equipment. Adding stuff to your house will never fix a issue that is in the internet.

Adding more hardware will not make things better.
You'll still be using that same cable, but with the added overhead of the second router.
