Hello all,

I recently bought Corsair Vengeance 32gb of ddr3 RAM (4x4gb) and I overclocked if on my MSI Gaming Motherboard to 2400mhz. I also overclocked my CPU to 4.0 ghx from 3.4 (Intel i5 4670k). Is this safe? Also, I have had two crashes so far consisting of IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL and PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA. Any ideas? How do I resolve this?

Thanks,
Cheez

Solution
Run Memtest86+ for a minimum of 3 full passes. IF this program shows any errors at all then there is an issue with the ram. Either the Overclock is to much, the memory timings are to tight, the voltage is to low, memory controller voltage is to low ect..

IF there are no errors then move on to the CPU stress tests. Use Prime95 on blend for a minimum of 3 hours strait if no errors then move on to Intel Burn Test for 20 runs using maximum stress.

If either of these programs error then the CPU is unstable. Either the overclock is to much or the voltage is to low. These tests are necessary any time you overclock and not just because you have errors, it is because you need to know if the components are stable.
