Have 2 8gb sticks of 1600mhz that work fine. Bought another pair of identical 8gb 1600mhz sticks, and my computer starts up fine, but projects nothing on the screen. I removed the new RAM and everything worked fine. From what I've read, my mobo should support the 32gb of RAM. Not sure if I need to do something with the bios or what, but I would rather hear from someone who knows what they're talking about before I mess it up.

The old and new RAM are all Corsair Vengeance 8gb DDR3 1600mhz.

Specs below.

AMD FX-4300 3.8GHz Quad-Core
GA-970A-D3P ATX
DT01ACA 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
GeForce GT 730 2GB
EVGA 450W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX psu

Hi puterbaugh :)

It's never a good idea to mix RAM kits even of the same spec. Manufacturers test and bin kits for conformatty as slight variations in Latency during manufacture can occur.
You can make them work together if you know what your doing and have experience in Bios Primary Timings however there is no guarantee they will play fair.
No damage will be done trying to get them to work however it might be a frustrating excersize and my advice is to return the new kit and get a single kit the size and frequency you desire that are listed on the MB QVL.
Here is a good article on the subject: https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?57038-Don%92t-combine-memory-kits!-The-meat-and-potatoes-overview
