I have a i5 6600k on asus z170 mb with 16gb corsair 2133mhz and a asus strix 770 on 28inch 4k 60hz panel.

do you think i would benefit more if i get a 1060 gtx instead?
or
do i go to an i7 cpu instead?

i also only have 550psu 80+bronze

i dont play games on my pc but will be using this build for photo editing and online streaming.

thoughts?

Solution
Since you are using it for Editing and Streaming i would say grab a new i7-7700K and you can keep your Motherboard just needs a BIOS update to support the new Kaby Lake (7th Gen) CPUs. Ryzen 7 are excellent at this as well but you already have a Z170 board so it would be cheaper/easier just to grab a 7700K to get better performance in your applications. This will have no issue on your Power Supply. Hope this helps :)

^Agreed. If you do not really game then you don't need a better GPU. For your needs a GTX770 is more than enough. An i7 though will make a significant difference in productivity applications.

Just make sure to do the BIOS update on your MB while you still have your current CPU in it.
