What limitations does this motherboard present for this drive?

Solution

That depends. It is still faster than any SATA SSD.
If you have this motherboard and want to upgrade your boot drive, then it is a good choice.
If you are buying everything new, try to find a motherboard with better M.2 support.
Drive is capable of sequential read speeds up to 3200 MB/s (interface is PCI-E 3.0 x4).
The motherboard will limit this to around 1000 MB/s (limited to PCI-E 2.0 x2).
I also can't see NVMe support listed for the motherboard. This might mean queuing is less efficient than it could be.,

I need another SSD for games and i figured an M2 drive would be a nice addition. I know it isnt the best cost effective method of adding SSD space. But i want to give an M2 a try and that seems to be the only one in a black and red theme.
