Hiya, I'd like to upgrade an oem HP (compaq elite 2800) with a GTX 960 and a new PSU. I've made sure the GPU can fit in the case but I'm not sure if that GPU will be OK on the stock motherboard as I'm not sure if it'll send enough power to the pcie slot. Also, I know that the stock mobo doesn't have standard power connectors so I'd like to know what adapter(s) I'd need. Can anyone help?

PS: Remember, I want to keep using the stock motherboard!

Thanks in advance,
Robert

UPDATE: Solved this myself. The only apdapter I'd need is one such as this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/20P-ATX-To-2-Port-6Pin-AT-PSU-Converter

And the motherboard being able to send enough power to the PCIE slot depends on if there's a little 35w warning sticker printed on the mobo, if that is there, I can't do the GPU upgrade. I dunno if it will be printed on there so I'll have to check.

Thanks to everyone who posted

1. The included PSU should be sufficient for GTX 960 if it has required connectors.
Upgrading a PSU in those machines is not trivial as it's not only about connectors, but also about form factor. Those older OEM PSUs are usually non standard ATX form factor so you will have trouble to mount it.
more over, the total cost of GTX 960 + PSU + adapters will probably cost more than just getting GTX 1050 or even 1050Ti that do not require additional power and will perform even better.

Well, I've already got a GTX 960 and a 430W EVGA PSU ready to go in, so I can't really send them back. The peticular compaq I own isn't small form factor and the PSU should mount OK. I'd like to know what connector adaptors I'd need to make the cables fit on that motherboard though. And do you think enough power would be put though the pcie slot?

BTW: any adapters to do with PSU cables are only a couple of quid on eBay so I think I can afford that
