As I am planing to build a new PC at the end of this summer I started looking into parts. I figured out mostly everything and the PC I would build is mostly gaming and a little for rendering.
I'm think a GTX 1070, Z270 motherboard and the new Kaby lake i5 are the things I'm going with.
When it came to storage I chose a solid option the WD Blue 2 TB and I also wanted an SSD.
Since I would have atlesat one M.2 slot if not two, so I wnt with that. My budget for this last vital component is under 150 EUR (around 140 Dollars I think). The 250 GB versoin of SAMSUNG's 960 EVO seemed like a good option for the price and had planty of capacity for waht I was planing (My plan is to have Win10 pro 64Bit on there as well as 2 or 3 larger games, like Just Cause 3 and such, all around 40 GB mark)
When I looked more in depth at the 960 EVO I found out that its not really such a good option as it had an unstable performance and a price that was higher than its competiotrs. It also has a rather low life expectancy at 100 TB Write (or it was something like that).
Then I became very lost in all the options, as some SSD's are faster, but some have longer lifespan witch is important to me as a teen and the PC would have to serve me at least 5 years to come.
What could You sudgest? What is your view on SSD's as vital OS drives and their life expectancy?
Should I look on the wider range of "older fashion" SATA SSD's? And what could be the best option?
Thanks for the help!
