Hi all,

I am wanting to build a cheapish system for 4k video editing & 3D CAD. My current system runs the cad fine - Core i5 2500k (yes I know its old!)...but it cannot handle 4k video obviously!

These are the compnents I have put together....

AMD Ryzen 7 1700
ASRock AMD AM4 Ryzen AB350 Pro4 ATX Motherboard
Gigabyte Nvidia GTX 1050Ti WF2 OC 4GB GDDR5 PCI-E
Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB DDR4 3000 MHz XMP 2.0 High Performance Memory Kit
Noctua NH-U12S SE-AM4 premium-grade 120mm tower CPU cooler for AMD AM4
Fractal Design Define R5 Black ATX Midtower Silent PC Computer Case

I already have a Samsung Evo SSD running Windows 7 & my programs. Plus a Toshiba P300 2TB Hard Drive which I would like to use with the above components.

This will be my first build so I just want to know if there will be any conflicts or problems using the above components together.

Any advice will be much appreciated!

Thanks,

Charlie

OK, it's your newbie build, I get it. Grab an RX480 8GB or 1070 8GB, if you have money. CPU won't bottleneck and both of these handle 4k really good. Man, 3 Post rampage, reading all the new posts to help people, its 2.30AM and im not sleeping. Oh my gosh, what a savage!

Hopefully you are still not sleeping!!!

I do not do any gaming at all.......will the 1050ti really limit the performance of the system overall??

I have read that Premier Pro CC does not rely so much on the GPU, its all about the proccessor.

I am confused now!!! :??:

Well I indeed took a nap after 0.30h. But yes, the 1050ti should be paired with a i3-6100/Pentium G4560. So, if you wanna render 4k and stuff at that res., you need a better GPU. Go with one of the 2 I recommended. Both are really great. And also, if you have like free time you can also game at 4k with one of the 2. Hope I solved your enigma. Hit me up (send me a PM) and if you have more questions, feel free to ask me. I'm here to help everyone I can!

EDIT: Have you bought that stuff yet? PLEASE DON'T! Grab an AM4 MOBO and a Ryzen r5-1600x Hexacore and you are ready to to everything. The 1600x beats the 1700 in some tests. Also, i recommend the 1070 if you have the money for it! It's a great GPU and I have a friend that own's one and he's really happy with his choice. Tho you can't pair (I think) another 1070 because it'll rek the CPU. Anyways: just replace the 1700 with the 1600X and grab a 1070! :]

Too late!!.....I already got the stuff......but I took your advice and bought a Sapphire Radeon Nitro Plus RX 480 OC 8GB GDDR5. I am sending the 1050ti back. I think this set up will be enough for what I need. Im not edting video for a living. I just make shorts for fun.... like this....https://vimeo.com/126059826

One more thing though, will the OCZ 600W PSU ModXStream Pro Series be powerful enough for this system?

Thanks for your help!!!

Well, yes. Never heard of OCZ tho. Can you give it back and get a Corsair/CM PSU? Anyways if you found my help "helpful", select me as the answer to your problem. Further questions, just ask me, ok?
