hello everyone, I need some help. my pc is using up 35-40% memory when idle. since the around the start of the year there have been overheating issues and this has escalated to memory and graphics card issues.
gpu: NVidia 635m GT
cpu: intel i5-3317U 1.7 ghz
ram: idk says 8 gb installed 7,89 gb usable
any graphics intensive games cause pc to overheat and turn off, and most of these are light load indie games. only web based flash games and Minecraft run on this pc. thanks in advance to any help

You need to check your fan on your heatsink is working, if not consider replacing the thermal paste between cpu and heatsink this should deal with your overheating issues. I would since the assembly comes as one piece (heatsink covers Cpu and GPU via copper rods, change the heat sink paste on the gpu as well. while you have your notebook, open, clean the pathways to the fan that draws the air out of your system, fans fins are probably gunked up

if you state your make and model of laptop I can probably find a service manual for it

as for the 35% utilization, open the performance monitor and look what is causing the 35% utilization, could be a telemetry could be the search windows uses, could be a malware hidden. looking in memory...

as for the 35% utilization, open the performance monitor and look what is causing the 35% utilization, could be a telemetry could be the search windows uses, could be a malware hidden. looking in memory while running you can click on the memory column usage and you will get the programs that are most using the memory at that time.
