So, I built a PC back in 2015 and it hasn't had any problems up until now, which now it suddenly decides to shut down at random times, even in safe mode or the BIOS menu.
Things I've tried to no avail:
• Changing the PSU
• Changing the RAM
• Doing a thorough cleaning of dust and other debris from my computer
• Changing the outlet my computer is plugged into
I've gone into the event viewer to try to get a general idea of what was causing it, and I've researched this issue to no avail. I know it's related to hardware because it wouldn't power off while I was idle in BIOS if it was software-related.
I'm currently thinking it's the hard drive, but would a hard drive failing cause sudden shutdowns without BSODs?
The CPU also feels hotter than other components after shutdowns (can't check exact temps because my PC usually shuts down too fast), so does that mean I would have to reapply thermal paste?
Thanks in advance!
EDIT: The CPU temp is at 79 C according to BIOS, meaning that the culprit is indeed the CPU.
