Hi guys,

I have an old Dell PC which I bought 7+ years ago. The fan on the graphics card is on it's way out and I need a new card ASAP. (By new, I mean newer than what I've got)
Don't need the latest and greatest, just something to get me by.
Any advice/help would be appreciated.
What info do you need to know to give me some advice?
The current card is a Nvidia GeForce GT 220.
Looking to spend between $100-150 i guess.
Sorry for the noob question, but it has been a while since I even thought about a new PC.

Solution
New cards you could look at RX460<GTX 1050< GTX1050Ti<RX470 If you can't check your power supply is a good brand and 500W+ don't get the 470. If you can verify your PSU is 500W+ then you can get bargain old AMD cards on Ebay like the 7950 & 7970 which will give you more performance for your money. Anything I mentioned here will be amazing compared to the old one.

I had to update my PSU recently as the old one didn't have enough power for the extra HDD I added. Currently it appears my video card has overheated (due to the faulty/dying fan) so I'll provide more info on my pc when it's back up and running.

You don't actually need a new card unless you get a displayport monitor (low-end nVidia cards of that vintage tended to have only HDMI while low-end ATI cards had displayport).

Take the fan off the heatsink and peel the sticker off the back for a place to oil it. If it doesn't have one or that doesn't fix the fan, also remove the shroud (if any) and just wire-tie a spare case fan pointing at it.

I'm not sure I have knowledge / ability to remove the old fan and spending $50-100 would be a better long term solution.
My current pc specs
Intel core i7 920 @2.67ghz
Dell motherboard 08R49J
8gb DDR3 ram
Nvidia GeForce GT220
Not sure about my PSU but I had the IT guy at work upgrade it for me about 6 months ago to more than cover the extra HDD I added (which was causing issues)

Thanks. My graphics card just overheated and switched off. I'll provide more info when my pc is back up and running.
