hey guys for my pcpartpicker build im using an amd fx8350 with an ASUS M5A97 R2.0 ATX AM3+ motherboard but there is an incompatibility and the message says "Some AMD 970 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Vishera CPUs. Upgrading the BIOS may require a different CPU that is supported by older BIOS revisions." So is this actually a problem or will it work? Here is my build https://pcpartpicker.com/list/NYFxCy so is it ok? will the cpu work with the motherboard without a bios update? pls answer fast. Thanks.

I HIGHLY recommend against that pairing. That motherboard has a weak VRM setup that can not properly handle the FX-8350 processor, especially if you overclock.

Not only that, that whole system would...
The incompatibility is the least of your issues. The system you are designing is a very very poor value for the money and outdated by 4 years

Get an i5 6500 with compatible ddr4 ram and a different motherboard and you will get about double the cpu horsepower for next to no cost change

I HIGHLY recommend against that pairing. That motherboard has a weak VRM setup that can not properly handle the FX-8350 processor, especially if you overclock.

Not only that, that whole system would get demolished by an i5-6400 for the same price. Even the i3-6100 games better.

Here you go 19 bucks cheaper, I dropped your PSU to a 550 G2 as well, you don't nor will you ever need 750w unless you go crossfire. Modern Intel platform, and significantly faster gaming:

Even if you do go for the 750w PSU to go crossfire in the future you would only be at $7 more than your AMD build.

No it's fine. I have the same exact setup. I am @4.0 GHz on a FX-8350 with a M5A97 R2.0 with 16GB of RAM and a RX480. PC runs fantastic! Enjoy man!
