Hello,

I'm wondering if there is any difference in performance with Ryzen 1800x with a GTX 1080 Ti SLI running at x8/x8 at 1440p/4k vs i7-6850K with a GTX 1080 Ti SLI running at x16/x16 1440p/4k

Will be any significant difference between those? I'm about to upgrade my PC and need to be sure before making any purchase.

Thanks.

You mean except the 4-5 games that have already done it? And the multitde of productivity suites that a 1800x blows away even a 6900k there are already a couple of games it beats everything made by Intel. I still agree if I'm only a gamer I'd get a 7700k/6800k/6900k depending on budget, but if I streamed/edited videos/gamed/cared about money. I wouldn't hesitate to buy a 1700 or 1700x and drop a mild oc on it. Also almost all initial reviews were done at 2400/2133mhz memory speed and now they have discovered faster memory makes a massive difference for ryzen. Waiting to see what happens at 2993-3200 range as boards are getting more stable at those speeds

So far based on feedbacks and reviews from different resources it showed that intel still the king for pure gaming, however ryzen 7 showed great results for rendering, capturing or streaming. Ryzen may be improved and optimized in the future, so nobody can say for sure how it will perform. Seems that you dont really care about the price so go for intel if u gonna play games most of the time.
If i could afford all this stuff i would wait a little bit more maybe at least a month, and then see if ryzen have improved. However intel is the safe buy right now.

Ryzen 1800X will never touch even i7 6800K in real world uses, let alone gaming, unless it is just benchmarks.

Lets wait for the fanboys.
Optimisation will never happen specifically for AMD CPU, never neglect the majority for the minority.
