What GPU do you have? If its an Nvidia GeForce 7000 series or earlier, Radeon x1000 series or earlier or any of the Intel integrated graphics before the Intel HD line like the X4500, then you only have DirectX 9 support and won't be able to launch the game. If you have a GPU newer than that, you might not have the proper drivers installed for it.
