Building/Saving for Gaming Desktop

Hello. I am saving for a gaming desktop, but I dont exactly know what parts I need or what needs to match what. I am trying to build a high end desktop that can basically run Battlefield 4 and other demanding games on High Graphics Settings but also smooth as well. Any pages I could read up on? Thanks

Whats your max budget. Do you need
Monitor? More then 1?
Mouse/keyboard?
Operating system?

There are some sticky treads under components you can read up on, also youtube videos are a great way to see how they go together. Check out https://pcpartpicker.com/ its a way to select components,see if they are compatible and check prices

Thanks for responses. I would like to keep my budget below 3000 as to get it going sooner. Who knows, I might not need to spend that much for what I am looking for.

I basically need everything that is needed to play on a desktop. I will be buying a new keyboard and mouse but I don't think that's such a hard decision.

I definitely need a monitor and would like it to be at least 28 inches.

It's going to be months until I can even afford everything so I will be reading a lot about what everything does but I really don't know where to start.
