Hi first of all i will start from the beginning, it all started from my PC crashing while playing games. So i worked through a list that someone gave me on another forum it was basic stuff like clean PC get rid of useless programs and he also wanted me to update bios. At this time asking for help i am still convinced it is a hardware issue, while gaming my temps on CPU and the Graphics Card where normal i cant remember what they where but at the time i did check them and they seemed alright. But as i have just changed out the RAM for new sticks it still happens so i am going to cover all the grounds and try to update bios. But for some reason the windows updating method freezes PC and also the Instant flash way Freezes PC. I Rang up the company ASRock and they sounded confused and said get a new chip. But i am asking today if anyone has any idea how i can do this as i really dont want to buy a chip to then find out it is not a fix for the PC.

the update 2.00 would only add support for NVMe...

What is the exact motherboard model number? This can be found by using a program called speccy. It also says below the CPU socket or between the PCI-E expansion slots.

Was there a particular reason for updating the BIOS? Normally, you only update a BIOS to correct a known issue or to gain additional functionality, like support for a new CPU. The BIOS is one of the "If it ain't broke, Don't fix it" components in a computer.

well... depends on what you mean with broke.
ther are a lot of things that could be fixed with a bios update.
but it can be not necessary to carry out.

The only reason i am updating it is because my whole PC crash restarts when playing games, and also because another guy told me to. Also when i rang up ASRock they said the only reason they updated it was because intel was stopping them overclocking any CPU so they updated it for that. And before you ask i do not overclock. Also that is why i dont think updating bios is the problem, but i have to cover all areas.

the update 2.00 would only add support for NVMe SSD`s. and i suppose you dont own a NVMe SSD.

i would suggest to download and run malwarebytes. run it a second time in safe mode.
get the newest drivers and see if the problem persists.
