noob questions inc.
running an EVGA 500w (100-W1-0500-KR) with EVGA GTX 960 FTW, and i5-3470, and shitty mobo.

currently looking to upgrade mobo to ASRock Z270 Killer SLI, replace processor with 7600k, and put in some Ripjaws 3200ddr4 mem.

would i need to upgrade psu? would cpu come with thermal paste? upon replacing mobo, would that format my Windows and would i have to re-buy?

thank you.

Solution
If the point of the SLI motherboard is to add another graphics card then you'll need a new PSU, otherwise ok.
Thermal paste typically comes with the CPU cooler. This CPU does not come with a cooler, so you'll need to buy one.
If you change your motherboard, Windows will at least need to be re-authenticated. If an OEM license then this may not be possible. Either way, best to reinstall Windows from scratch when changing motherboard.
