So I have an old Macbook Pro mid-2010 13'' running Sierra. I recently replaced the SATA HD for an SSD and just yesterday replaced the old battery for a (supposedly) brand new one. But I have some questions:

1. I felt like the Mac's temperature increased after the SSD was put in. Would that be correct? It was fluctuating around 80 and that with the TG Pro software I use to control the fan and also with a laptop base I have with coolers under it.

2. Since I replaced the battery it seems that the overall temperature is lower, around 65-70.

3. It says here that the battery has 0 cycles. Is this the proof that the battery is actually brand new? One can never be sure about these things, since I did not buy it from Apple but from a third party, who swore it was an original Apple battery.

4. Considering all the info above (Mac model, SSD hd, new battery) how long should I expect the battery to last when the charger is unplugged?

If you compare the capacity of your 3rd party battery with a genuine Apple one, this will give you an indicator of how its performance will compare.
I agree with Slow Pri, just let the MacBook control its own fans. If you feel like temperatures have increased since installing the new drive just swap the old one back in and compare temps

Where did you purchase the battery? If it's not apple genuine (meaning you bought it directly from them) you may experience issues like that. If the battery isn't genuine it may last 1-3 hours (usually 3rd party batteries).

Overall, an SSD has no moving parts so therefore is able to run a lot faster and cooler. Since Macbook's use a unibody design, they use the case for a way of cooling "passively". I wouldn't control the fan's manually, in my 2012 MBP I have the fans fully controlled by the PC itself.

TRY: I would if anything open up the MBP and clean the fans and or internal.
